Information

Please visit the Headquarters AFJROTC web site for the most up-to-date information on this worldwide program sponsored by the US Air Force.

At Sanderson High School, we have approximately 120 students from grades 9-12 in our program.  We offer four courses:  JROTC I, JROTC II, JROTC III Honors, and JROTC IV Honors.  For details on each academic course, please scroll and contact us through the form.

In addition to the academic courses, our cadets participate in many after-school activities throughout the year including Drill Team, Color Guard, Multicopter Club, Model Rocket Club, flying with the Civil Air Patrol, and numerous community service events.  We also host over 400 competitors from other AFJROTC units at the Capital City Drill Meet each spring, and we honor our annual award winners and graduating cadets at a formal military ball each May.  While not required, each cadet is expected to perform at least 12 hours of community service with us each academic year.

Welcome to Air Force Junior ROTC. The mission of Air Force Junior ROTC is to "Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community." Air Force Junior ROTC is not an USAF accessions program and cadets are never under any obligation to join the military. Air Force Junior ROTC is a Title 10 US Code mandated citizenship training program that is designed to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program achieves this through classroom education in air and space fundamentals and hands on learning opportunities in a number of fun and challenging extra-curricular activities.
